US Murder Rates by State and Race: 2003 thru 2009

The following tables were compiled by The Audacious Epigone, a quant blogger of some renown. The first table looks at murder rates committed by blacks, averaged over the years 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2007, 2009. Source: Audacious Epigone Black Homicide Rates by State

The next table comes from Audacious Epigone: White Murder Rates by State

Keep in mind that since Hispanic crime rates are not separated from white crime rates, it is highly likely that Hispanic perpetrators were involved in most of the murders designated as having been committed by "whites," in states containing an appreciable Hispanic population. That is one of the quirks in the US system of crime reporting.

One of the interesting observations is how much higher black murder rates are than "white" rates, even when murders by Hispanics are added to murders by "whites."

Stratification of US murder rates by race will show that blacks have the highest murder rates, hispanics the next highest, whites the third highest, and asians have the lowest murder rates. In the UK, Europe, and Australia, the rankings would vary somewhat due to different immigrant populations.

Following are some international homicide rate comparisons:

Interracial Violent Crime: Festering, Simmering, Behind the News Blackout

Originally published on Al Fin blog

Violent crime rates in US cities are rising again, after a respite of almost 20 years. A spike in violent assaults is largely responsible for the rise.

One of the most striking aspects of the recent spike in US violent crimes is the inter-racial aspect of the phenomenon. Respected economist and author Thomas Sowell -- a black man himself -- asserts that a censored race war against whites is taking place in US cities. DOJ crime statistics appear to support that assertion, if one looks beneath the veneer.
Not only is the U.S. economy in shambles, violent crime is at an all-time high and new federal statistics show that 2011 saw the biggest increase in criminal activity in nearly two decades with a large boost in the rate of “violent victimizations” for whites. _JudicialWatch
In several locations, an alarming rise in black hate crimes against whites and asians is raising racial fears to new levels.

Some people may remember the infamous "Zebra Killings" in the San Francisco bay area of the 1970s. Violent black groups in the bay area specifically targeted whites for killing -- as a form of initiation, as well as an irrational form of retribution for actions decades or centuries old.

The mentality behind the Zebra Killings never actually went away. In fact, the ideas that fuel black hatred against whites and asians in the US, has become more broadly generalised and institutionalised in churches, special K-12 through university schools, special curricula within mainstream K-12 through university schools, and in ethnic and mainstream media. Such hatred is also often transmitted from mother to sons, from the cradle onward -- similar to the way that Palestinain youth are programmed from infancy to hate Jews.

An interesting 2011 paper titled: "Crime in Europe and the US Dissecting the Reversal of Fortunes" (PDF), Attempts to explain the apparent contradictory trends in violent crive rates -- where European crime rates were rising, and US crime rates had been dropping for almost 20 years.

Although the last two years are seeing an uptick in violent assault in the US, it is worth looking at the reasons the researchers gave for changing trends in violent crime rates.

They looked at the influence of:
  1. demographic changes,
  2. incarceration,
  3. abortion,
  4. unemployment
  5. immigration
on crime.

We find that the demographic structure of the population and the incarceration rate are important determinants of crime. Our results suggest that a tougher incarceration policy may be an effective way to contrast crime in Europe. _Contrasting Crime Trends in Europe and the US (PDF)
It is odd that the authors of the study did not suggest stricter immigration control for Europe as well, given their findings. It is difficult to overcome over half a century of draconian political correctness, however.

Ignoring the issue of violent crime will not make it go away. The alarming rise in black hate crimes against whites and asians -- and sometimes hispanics -- suggests that the two most politically correct population groups are also the most victimised. Whites and asians are also the groups with the lowest fertility rates -- suggesting that the victimisation of these populations at the hands of young black males may be just beginning.

A similar future for aging populations of whites in Europe is likely, as immigrant groups from underperforming tribal third world areas replace more and more of the former native populations.

Mexican Drug War: Part of the Coming Anarchy

Mexican officials said Wednesday almost 13,000 people died in drug violence in the first nine months of 2011, pushing the toll since the start of a five-year military crackdown above 47,000.

Drug-related killings in 2011 were up 11% compared with the same period in 2010... _NatPost
National Post

Thanks to organised crime cartels, Mexico ranks as one of the most violent countries in the world. The only nations more violent than Mexico, are other Latin American nations caught up in drug cartel violence, or Sub Saharan African nations caught up in the perpetual tribal violence and power struggles of the dark continent.
One year ago, the government released figures showing 34,612 people had died in suspected drug violence since President Felipe Calderon started a controversial military crackdown on organized crime gangs at the end of 2006.

The latest figures were gathered from the offices of state prosecutors.

Wednesday’s statement underlined that 70% of last year’s suspected drug-related killings occurred in only eight of 31 states and the capital.

Local authorities have reported 40 gangland-style killings so far this week, including 13 bodies dumped near a gas station in the western state of Michoacan and two bodies found burned and decapitated in the capital Wednesday. _NatPost
Of course, without the rich drug markets of the US, Mexican organised crime would not be nearly so well-funded. If the US government were to discover an alternative approach to the problem of drug abuse which achieves better overall results than prohibition, a wide range of misery and violence might be mitigated in one fell swoop.
If the rich payoffs from drug crimes were suddenly taken away from the cartel jefes, they would probably feel forced into some other criminal activity such as kidnapping for ransom, or human trafficking. The general idea behind anti-crime policy-making should be to limit the extent and duration of harm that individual crime bosses can inflict, and to reduce the number of big crime bosses overall.

In low IQ societies, decapitation strikes are often quite successful against large criminal and insurgent organisations.

Epidemic of Violence by Media Veterans

Normal citizens are becoming alarmed at the flurry of violence by media veterans:
A Denver newspaper columnist is arrested for stalking a story subject. In Cincinnati, a television reporter is arrested on charges of child molestation. A North Carolina newspaper reporter is arrested for harassing a local woman. A drunken Chicago Sun-Times columnist and editorial board member is arrested for wife beating. A Baltimore newspaper editor is arrested for threatening neighbors with a shotgun. In Florida, one TV reporter is arrested for DUI, while another is charged with carrying a gun into a high school. A Philadelphia news anchorwoman goes on a violent drunken rampage, assaulting a police officer. In England, a newspaper columnist is arrested for killing her elderly aunt.

..."These people could snap at any minute," says James Treacher of the Treacher Institute for Journalist Studies. "We need to get them the help and medication they need before it's too late."...Accounts of media psychopathy, while widespread, have until now been largely anecdotal. In order to provide a more focused and systematic study of the crisis, Iowahawk researchers set out to identify and tabulate criminal arrests and convictions of current and former journalists. While by no means comprehensive, this 10-minute project yielded a grim picture of a once-proud profession now in the grips of tragic, drunk, violent, child-raping rage.

The stories cited in the opening paragraph, while instructive, are by no means isolated. Google searches return hundreds of crimes attributable to workers in America's media industry, and millions of pages containing the terms "journalist" and "murder." They are as shocking in their detail as they are in their number.

....How many unsuspecting American motorists and pedestrians remain at risk from alcoholic media professionals is still a matter of scientific conjecture, but one thing is certain: journalists can be even more deadly outside their cars. Often the journalistic gateway to violent behavior begins with stalking and trespassing -- such as has been alleged of People magazine reporters Jeffrey Neal Weiss, and, in an unrelated incident, Don Sider. But sometimes, as in the case of MSNBC host Keith Olbermann, serial stalking behavior goes unpunished and the perpetrators go on to seek more serious thrill-crimes. Journalists recently charged with violent offenses include New York Times reporter and alleged batterer Michael Katz, British reporter Ben Stubbings, and St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Margaret Gillerman, charged with striking a police officer.

... A shocking number of journalism-related crimes involve child molestation, child pornography, and internet stalking of minors. Journalists recently charged with sickening crimes in this category include Arizona newspaper editor Lindsey Stockton, Arkansas radio reporter Charles "David" Ballard, New Orleans Times-Picayune reporter William Kalec, Former KTTV-TV Los Angeles reporter Rod Bernsen, Washington DC TV weatherman Bill Kamal, and Noel Neff, former editor of the children's magazine Weekly Reader.

In recent times, the national journalist crime spree has taken an increasingly deadly turn. A typical case in point is former Savannah newspaper reporter Donald Lowery, charged with robbing a bank with a sawed-off shotgun. Sometimes arrests are made before bloodshed, such as in the case of Oak Ridge (TN) newspaper reporter and alleged murder plotter Michael Frazier, and former San Francisco AsianWeek columnist Kenneth Eng, arrested for threatening a Virginia Tech-style massacre at a New York University commencement. All too often, though, the warning signs come too late. Recent years witnessed several journalists arrested on murder charges, including longtime Hartford Courant reporter Gregory Robertson and Missouri radio host and reporter James Keown, charged with fatally poisoning his wife by spiking her Gatorade with antifreeze.

...Among the defenders is University of Tennessee law professor Glenn Reynolds.

"I think it's unfair to single out journalists as thieves, or violent, or drunks, or child abusers," says Reynolds. "Sometimes they're all of the above."...He cites the case of Kevin Lee Pettiford, a Knoxville journalist charged with abducting and threatening to kill three minor girls during a drunken high speed chase to an attempted bank robbery.

Truly, the North American public is at serious risk from violent media veterans--the scummiest of the scummy.
